Welcome to the 2015 Light the Night 5K presented by the LMU-DCOM Physician Assistant Program

The Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine Physician Assistant Program Class of 2016 presents Light the Night, a 5K race taking place in Harrogate, TN on June 19, 2015, starting at 8:30pm.

This isn’t your average 5K. Sunlight? Overrated. Especially when you and everyone else around you are covered with glow sticks, glow necklaces, glow t-shirts, and glow everything else you can find. This year we are also featuring a glow station! We will have staff that will spray glow paint or hair spray on you to make sure this is the most illuminated year yet. We’re going to light the night and have a blast in the process.

The best part? The proceeds go to Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, which will benefit Food for Kids. Food for Kids is a collaborative effort between Second Harvest and an ever-increasing number of public schools within the food bank’s 18-county service area. The program is designed to provide healthy, easily prepared food to some of the most vulnerable children in our community—children who may be missing meals on a regular basis.

So get your tennis shoes ready (the neon yellow or the ones that light up, preferably). There is fun to be had and an amazing cause to support.

We offer a free Light the Night 2015 T-Shirt to all race participants, as well as two glow bracelets and necklaces. We will also be using a timing system this year by using timing chips to make sure we get the most accurate times possible.

This year we have also have prize categories in age groups so that way everyone has a chance to win something! We hope to see many more participants and more excitement than any year before!
